Professional tax in Gujarat.
Gujarat's professional tax is ₹200 a month once wages exceed ₹12,000, under the Gujarat State Tax on Professions, Trades, Callings and Employments Act, 1976 — but it is collected locally, not from one statewide office. Ahmedabad's rate (verified from the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation's own page) is the authoritative figure for Ahmedabad; other Gujarat municipal areas set their own rate within the same Schedule I ceiling.

Worth knowing
- This page shows Ahmedabad's rate as the verified example. If your establishment is outside Ahmedabad, confirm the rate with your own municipal corporation before relying on this figure — Comriq's research found Ahmedabad's rate is authoritative for Ahmedabad and indicative of the pattern elsewhere, not a confirmed statewide number.
